Commander Rick Gabler and has been serving the Brooklyn Center community since 2005.

Throughout his law enforcement career, Rick has served as a patrol officer, explorer advisor, field training officer, assistant team leader for the SWAT team and was assigned to the Street Crimes Unit (SCU), patrol sergeant, and training sergeant. As commander, Rick has filled the role of public information officer (PIO) and supervised the investigations, community services and patrol divisions.

Commander Gabler holds a master's degree in public safety and law enforcement leadership from the University of St. Thomas and a bachelor's degree in law enforcement from Metropolitan State University where he received their prestigious outstanding student award.
