The City of Brooklyn Center requires the licensing of tobacco related products as defined in Section 23-101 of the Ordinance. The license period is the calendar year, January 1 through December 31.
Upon completion of application, including providing required documentation and fees, the Police Department will complete an investigation, and based upon the investigation, will recommend approval or denial of the license application.
Once approved by the Police Department, the license application shall be presented to the City Council for consideration at their regularly scheduled meeting. The City Council meets the second and fourth Monday of each month. Please allow adequate time for completion of application and Council approval when applying.
Please note there are currently no tobacco licenses available for new businesses. To be placed on a waiting list, please email cityclerk@brooklyncentermn.gov.
