Project Updates

The City of Brooklyn Center is preparing for the full-depth pavement replacement of Humboldt Avenue between 69th and 65th and the mill and overlay of 65th Avenue between Humboldt and Camden.

Last Updated: 9/18/2025

To address neighborhood safety concerns, reduce traffic delay, and create safer routes to school, the project now includes:

  • Three single-lane roundabouts are designed to calm traffic, reduce crashes, and smooth traffic flow. They are located at:
    • 69th Ave N and Humboldt Ave N
    • Humboldt Ave N and 65th
    • 65th Ave N and Dupont Ave
  • Pedestrian and bicycle upgrades—high-visibility crosswalks, ADA-compliant curb ramps, curb extensions, and improved sidewalk connections—to make it easier for students to walk and bike to Brooklyn Center High School and Middle School.
  • Street rehabilitation and utility replacements within the project limits, extending pavement life and improving underground infrastructure.
