Spring into Action: Clean and Swap on May 17 from 10am-2pm at the Brooklyn Center Community Center! This exciting event brings back the familiar Shingle Creek Cleanup with a fresh twist. Bring your unwanted items, set them out on tables, and browse through what others have to offer—it's a free swap event! In addition, there will be a variety of community resources available for those seeking long-term support with clothing, housing, food, and more.
We’ll also host several collection drives, including eyeglasses and hearing aids (with the Lions Club), drug take-back (courtesy of the Brooklyn Center Police), and electronics recycling. To top it off, volunteers can participate in a park cleanup, with supplies like gloves, trash pickers, and bags provided. Come out to clean up, swap, and connect with your community!
Stop in the community center from 10 am- 2 pm to collect cleaning supplies such as grabbers, bags, vests, and gloves. You will then let staff know which park you plan to clean.
Light food and drink will be provided to those who do a cleanup.
